Hello world!

I’m doing it. I’m gonna leave the title of this post alone because HELLO WORLD, I LIKE KNOTS. Yes, our relationship is… complicated, but isn’t many a perfectly good knot convoluted?

The moon is 98.6% Waning Gibbous on the 22nd day of July by the Gregorian calender. Today is Saturday and Thursday was the Summer Solstice here in the northern hemisphere. Shout out to everyone in the southern hemisphere celebrating the Winter Solstice! It was super hot and humid in the 97 degree fahrenheit zone. I am celebrating by choosing an area to focus on that brings me great comfort and joy and encourages me to do things that leave me feeling healthier. That area is rope. Like a warm hug it delivers the goods. Like a sandwich… nah, I can’t follow that thought train right now. I just am so enamored with rope and don’t want to sound corny so I am just going to jump into this whole goal setting aspect of starting this blog and documenting my more focused study and intentional rope journey.

My goals are to document my rope journey for at least 100 days. I do not have to tie everyday, but I can still document my thoughts or feelings. I want to try some rendition of an experiment here with the 100 day challenge and attempt to apply the scientific method.

Question: Can I allow the warm fuzzy feelings I get from self-tying bring me into a state of better mental and physical health by prioritizing and incentivizing how I feel in beneficial ways that could have the power to help me ease off on being so tense in my desire for control?

Research: I will go with limited experience as well as the books and personal accounts I have encountered up until now. I will admit some of it could be skewed towards wanting my question to be correct, so I will do my best to be thorough.

Hypothesis: Focusing on my study of rope and self-tying could greatly improve both my mental and physical well being by providing a circumstance within which I can allow myself to release control on my own terms and feel held and supported in doing so. Prioritizing this circumstance has the power to change how I feel about not always holding the control which can affect the way that I see my own value. Improving how I see and calculate my own value can lead to increase levels of physical health.

Experiment: For 100 days documenting my relationship with and journey of practicing self-tying. If I can’t get to the computer I can record on paper my reflections and notes.

Okay, so there is the end of my first post here. Next up is documentation of the 100 days.
